YOUR PRIVACY MATTERS.

Who we are
ICL (“we”, “us”) provides an anonymous messaging and Q&A app. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices. Questions: support@iclapp.com.
Information we collect
Depending on how you use ICL, we may collect:
- Account info — username and profile settings you choose.
- Device and technical data — device type, app version, OS, and identifiers needed to run the service and prevent abuse.
- Sender info — when you answer a prompt on the web or in the app, we may store approximate city, region, and country from network metadata; timezone; language; screen size; a software/device summary from the browser User-Agent or Client Hints; network/ISP organization (not your SIM carrier); coarse connection type when the browser exposes it; submission time; and an internal ICL actor ID. We do not currently collect phone number or precise GPS from anonymous web answers. Creators with ICL Pro can unlock these summarized Response Insights fields for responses they received. We do not give creators your raw IP address or full User-Agent string. Hints are technical context, not your name — but combining hints could still feel identifying in a small audience.
- Content — prompts you publish, messages you send or receive, and share cards you create.
- Usage data — how you interact with the app (for example opens, shares, and feature use). On the creator app we use Mixpanel for product analytics only after you agree to Terms/Privacy at Begin (opt-out by default until then). You can contact us to ask about analytics preferences.
- Push tokens — if you enable notifications, we store a device push token to deliver opaque alerts (for example that someone answered — not the message text).
- Purchases — if you subscribe to ICL Pro, Apple/Google and our entitlement systems process purchase status so we can unlock Response Insights. We do not receive your full payment card number.
- Safety signals — reports, blocks, and moderation-related information.
How we use information
We use this information to:
- Operate and improve ICL
- Deliver anonymous messages and share links
- Detect spam, abuse, and safety risks
- Provide customer support
- Meet legal obligations
We do not sell your personal information.
Sharing
We may share information with:
- Service providers who help us host, analyze, or secure the app
- Authorities when required by law or to protect safety
- Parties involved in a merger, acquisition, or similar transaction
Replies can be sent without a public name. Entitled creators may unlock technical Response Insights for a response (approximate location, device/software, screen, language, timezone, network/ISP, time, channel, and ICL ID)—not your legal name or account login. Do not share information you would not want linked to you.
Retention and deletion
We keep information only as long as needed to provide ICL, comply with law, and resolve disputes. You can request account deletion in the app (Settings → Delete account) or follow the instructions at /delete-account. When you delete, we immediately remove your public username/profile and revoke sessions; further cleanup of authored content and related signals runs after a short grace period (about 30 days), except where we must retain records for safety, fraud, or legal obligations. Deleting your ICL account does not cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription — manage that in the store account settings.
Age requirement
ICL is for adults. You must be at least 18 to create an account or use the creator features. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of ICL after changes means you accept the updated policy.
